A look back at Newt Gingrich's first solo appearance on Meet the Press in December 1991

2012 contender Newt Gingrich made his first solo appearance on NBC's Meet the Press on December 1, 1991, where he defended his tax plan against criticism from Republican Senator Bob Dole, who dubbed him "the Gingrich who stole Christmas."
