Gallup reports this afternoon that Obama has hit a new low of 40%.
Gallup notes that this low approval seems related to the low marks Americans have given Obama for how he's handled the debt negotiations.
This trend since last August doesn't look too good for him.\

Just a few minutes ago, at about 10.12 UK time, the BBC broadcast a report about public reaction to the debt crisis. Two people were reported, both of whom thought it disgusting that "people" would endanger the economy by - - - you guessed, refusing an unlimited increase in borrowing.
OK, so I have abbreviated but the lack of balance in the BBC report is fact - the BBC wants a big increase in US borrowing because they know it's right. Any Republican who thinks otherwise is, according to the BBC ethois, just evil.
Over to you Americans now - tell the BBC what we've been saying for years. Left, left left left left.
