Romney, Bachmann, and Perry are Larry Sabato's three top-tier 2012 contenders

Larry Sabato released his new three-tier rating for the 2012 GOP presidential candidates today.

The first two tiers look like this:

The thumbs-up/-down signify whether a candidate is gaining or losing momentum in Sabato's view. Note that he gave Pawlenty and Huntsman thumbs-down. Huntsman just got started! Maybe his motorcycle started running out of gas after that long ride to his campaign launch.
