America’s seniors depend on Medicare for their health care.

Yet Medicare is on an unsustainable path. It will run out of money in the next decade and, eventually, it will bankrupt America.

How do we fix Medicare's out-of-control spending problem in a way that preserves the program for seniors? Many ignore the question altogether. Others sharply disagree about which answer to give.

The way we answer the question has dramatic consequences for our quality of life, our personal freedom, how much we pay in taxes, and how much of a burden we place on old and young alike.

The House Republicans’ Medicare plan offers a real solution - one that preserves quality health care for seniors in a fiscally responsible way.

On this divisive issue, we need as many Americans as possible to send strong signals to Washington that it’s time to change how Medicare works.

There are two main options going forward:

We can choose the House Republicans’ plan. It would contribute a fixed amount of funds each year to seniors for them to purchase insurance from a diverse group of providers. The amount each year would rise with inflation. This would bring more discipline into the health care marketplace, slow the growth of health care costs, and give seniors control over the health care decisions that affect them.

Or we can choose the Obama plan. It would create a board of professionals in Washington who would decide how much to pay doctors, and which health care services seniors can or cannot receive. It would end up taking health care away from patients and, as Medicare's budget-setter, would succumb to political pressure to keep costs rising unustainably. Which means more borrowing, bigger deficits, and higher taxes.
