Nick Schulz of The American and AEI interviews Bryan Caplan, who's new book, Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids: Why Being a Great Parent Is Less Work and More Fun Than You Think, looks to be as interesting as his previous, The Myth of the Rational Voter.
Caplan argues that when you put 40 years of research together, you find that the long-run effect of parents is smaller than parents typically think (e.g., genes matter a lot). So parents should worry less about parenting and look to the long-term benefits. Having more kids is good both for society and for parents themselves. Population and prosperity go hand-in-hand.
